Animal Behaviorist Certification

Learn from Katherine and become certified as an Animal Behaviorist and Service Dog Trainer.

Basic Study of Canines

Obedience Training

  • Canine Good Citizen group/class training. Teaching group class.
  • Service dog training
  • Therapy dog training
  • Emotional support dog training

Behavioral Work with Problem Dogs

  • Working within a dog pack
  • Rehabilitation of dog with issues

Other

  • Business building
  • Shelter externship

Graduation

Student will purchase a training package to begin program which is $950.
A training package covers 40 hours of consultation, written material and practical work. Total cost to complete the program is $5000-10,000. Most students complete the program on a part-time basis in 2 years.

The time that it will take for each student to complete the program varies considerably depending on previous experience of student and availability to work with the instructor. At the time of entry into the program, prospective students will be evaluated and given an individual estimate of time and cost.

Upon completion of the program, the student will graduate with a certification in Animal Behavior and Service Dog Training, as well as Canine Good Citizen Certification training.

    Animal Behaviorist
    Animal Psychology Center in Philip, South Dakota, is a pet psychology center owned by animal behaviorist and trainer, Katherine Andrews. Services and training are available in Rapid City, SD, and many desperate owners have traveled in from other states for her specialized expertise.

    My passion is to train and rehabilitate dogs with behavioral issues. Some even call me a "dog whisperer" thanks to my ability to work through particularly tough behavior problems and help with aggressive dogs, even when other trainers have failed and owners have nearly given up.

    Through my early love for animals, I developed it into a lifetime career and commitment. Backed with 20 years of animal training experience, I take pride in making life better for people and pets through my animal psychology services.
